Shourangiz is larger than the setar and smaller than the tar. The most notable difference lies in the materials used; while the setar's face is entirely wood and the tar's face is skin, the shourangiz features a face that is part wood and part skin. This special combination allows the shourangiz to produce a sound that is both powerful and soft, with rich tones. Its body is slightly larger than the setar, offering better control during performances.
